The North American Club Nintendo site was accessible for just one minute but the Rewards it had displayed could be seen in that short time. The prizes are similar to what Club Nintendo in Japan offered. The prizes included the Mario hat DS Game Stand, hanafuda cards game which is a traditional Japanese card game, DS game cases and Game& Watch Collection. These games were there in the Japanese Club Nintendo rewards also.

NeoGAFfer could take a screenshot of the rewards on moving to the My Nintendo account for a second. The Club Nintendo FAQ also confirms the Gold and Platinum programs and their associated special prizes. Still, the European and the Japanese Club Nintendo gallery and rewards are live and can be enjoyed.

Recently, Nintendo of Japan has registered a rather unusual trademark, the right to use “Napoleon” it one of its game. We kept guessing whether now Nintendo plans to impart Napoleon Bonaparte’s Military Training in the form of Super Napoleon Kart. But Siliconera denied all these guesses. Siliconera’s Spencer predicted that Nintendo would be planning to be preparing a title based on a popular hearts-like card game in Japan.

This card game is also known as Napoleon. There could also be a second possibility that this game could be a remake or a sequel to the GBA strategy title of the same name, Napoleon. This game was published by Nintendo in Japan and France and developed by Genki.

I am glad that Nintendo kept its promise. They had promised we would not see Wii shortage this holiday. WalMart and many other retailers still have a stock at their stores. It has been an unbelievable season for Nintendo. A huge amount of people are using a Nintendo Wii tracker to check availability at stores. This is the time to get a Nintendo Wii because prices are increasing everyday.

Since its release in American market on November 2006 our Nintendo Wii tracker has been checking online retailers for their stock availability. We can simply tell you to rush to any store that has the stock. Things are still not under control. Most of the retailers are selling the Wii in a bundle for $329. If you think of buying it from a Wii tracker at an affordable price then forget it.

Amazon had started a 15 Days, 15 Deals with a hope to keep up with the market. However very soon all the Wii trackers showed it to be running out of stock. The offer was good they educed the price on all Wii products. That gave most of us an opportunity to grab our favorite. WalMart still has thousand of Wii waiting for us but not sure for how long. Best Buy is running out of stock so is Circuit City. There is no point in searching any Nintendo Wii tracker when you know if big stores are running out of stock then retailers will definitely not impress us.

The Ultimate Shooting Collection was earlier delayed from November 11th and scheduled to release on December 15th as mentioned by the publisher UFO Interactive’s US release. There is still some bad news to come. The compilation of Milestone shooters which include Radio Allergy, Chaos Field and Karous was to be released on December 15th but will be delayed by a month, as declared by Amazon and Gamestop. Gamestop’s new release date is January 20th and that of Amazon is January 31st. The verification of this delay is awaited by UFO and would also specify the confirmed released dates.

It is confirmed that Radilgy has a bad fate, which had plans of release on December 26th. However, O3 Entertainment then announced that it will be delayed and released in February of next year. It was then delayed till March and after a few more delays, it was finally cancelled in June.

Joystiq is out with all the latest versions of Ghostbusters with the first hands-on with Ghostbusters: The Video Game that developers like Terminal Reality (PS3/PC/360) and Red Fly (Wii) are delivering pure and off-the-chart fan service. The only concern now is will the game be fun to play or not and is it as good as it looks on paper. According to Terminal Reality, since many people have not seen the original movie or its sequel, the chances of some middle-aged men dressed in goofy getups may not be a major point for sell.

It was also to feel good that Joystiq said the Wii version is their favorite. The PS3/360 version looked far better but capturing ghosts felt a bit dicey and maybe frustrating also. So, both Joystiq and Wii have a good deal of time to tighten the things till June 2009 when the game would be shipped.

The hilarious Ready to Rumble is planning a major, star-studded return in spring 2009 with the launch of Ready 2 Rumble Revolution. This time the franchise would be Wii and taking the advantage of the motion-controlled realism of Wii, Ready 2 Rumble Revolution will make a punch more fun than ever. Ready 2 Rumble Revolution was first announced in 2006 but this time Atari has confirmed that the announcement is real with screens and a lot more. However, those screens have the new character designs based on celebrities and not too good to view.

Revolution is developed by the wrestling game company formerly known as AKI, so it has to be good. Still, it has less chances of competing with Punch Out!! in terms of sales.

Nintendo had submitted an official application to trademark Wii Remote in March this year. However, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) have suspended Nintendo’s application for the same and sent a letter which indicates that the word remote is far too common and incapable to be trademarked. Still, it is possible for the console Nintendo to trademark the term. For this, Nintendo will have to disclaim any ownership of the word “remote” except for when used with “Wii Remote.”

Nintendo could also use Wiimote as a trademark which is commonly used to describe its Wii controller. GamePolitics reported, Fobis Technologies, a manufacture company in Florida that makes TV remote control for children, has owned the trademark for Wiimote since 2000. Nintendo got engaged with Fobis regarding the purchase of the trademark but somehow things didn’t work and Nintendo walked away from those discussions.

Nintendo seems to correct its earlier statement which said that unless one buys a new hardware, new code cannot be obtained even if you have bought a new hardware or require a replacement code. Contradictory, Nintendo has now announced that it will give out the activation codes to those that have lost the original number or to those who have bought a replacement Wii console since activating the peripheral. The WiiSpeak microphone is the only accessory to access the WiiSpeak Channel and the microphone has a unique activation code that allows the user to view the channel.

The Nintendo of Europe confirms to contact the Customer Services department for a new Wii Download Ticket number if the previous one is misplaced to access the WiiSpeak Channel. This offer by Nintendo, however, is not clear whether Activation code will be available for those who purchase a second-hand Wii Speak peripheral.

THQ released its game De Blob in the month of September along with the major games like Mega Man 9, Samba de Amigo and Wario Land: Shake It! where  it was easy for the people to forget this game. The game was not a commercial success like the others but gradually it won the hearts and a lot was noticed about the game. Infact, it grabbed the Australian Development awards and became popular as Australia’s favorite game.

The GDAA (Game Developers Association of Australia) every year give honors to the outstanding games of the year and this year, majority of the awards went to THQ’s De Blob. The THQ-published Wii-exclusive title took the prizes for the best console title, best gameplay, best audio, best graphics and also the GDAA’s best game of the year.

Tokyo headquartered and publisher Square Enix is building a new studio in El Segundo, Los Angeles. They had announced last week that they would publish Gas Powered Game’s Supreme Commander, to create games targeted mainly at consumers in North America and Europe. Now, the job listings on their site reveal that they are looking forward to fill several positions for the new location and hiring staff to work on currently announced Xbox 360 and Wii Action games.

The listings on job board’s claims that the software engineers in the new studio will experience creative control in the right direction with the backing and funding of a major publisher. It also suggests that this studio will come up with original designs apart from the technical work for Japanese-designed games. This studio might fare up than Square’s other development studios in U.S.
