The stores are completely empty of the Nintendo Wii and there are still plenty of Sony PS3s to be had. Despite this, analysts believe the PS3 will pick up in sales starting in 2008 which will indeed by greater than Wii's growth. This means that the PS3 will be catching up to the Wii by 2011.

The only problem is that these predictions are coming from analysts are usually wrong. The fact is that right now, people want the Nintendo Wii and this demand will continue very strong until 2011. Especially when Wii makes multiple price cuts will make even more people want to buy the Nintendo Wii. I'm not too sure about the PS3 beating the Wii anytime soon or even in 2011.
